Different Strokes for Different Folks- Does your Feng Shui consultant ensure that the recommendations are aimed at fulfilling your goals?

Wednesday, May 27, 2009 Posted by admin

The general idea of Feng Shui is to tap into positive energies from your surroundings, channel them and bring balance- thereby enhancing the quality of life, create a harmonious environment, blah blah blah.

But in this day and age, is that always the outcome that you want?

Probably not.

Is it a residental, commercial or a bit of both? If it is a residential, will you be living in it? Are you buying or renting? Long term or short? Is it a holiday home? Or are you renting it out? If it is for work, what kind of work? How do they work?

These are but some of the questions you must ask yourself. There is rarely a one-size-fit-all solution. Here are a few different examples of clients and friends I have done some work for:

Abby is moving into an apartment in the city. She is single and looking to forward her career in public relations. She does not mind dating but currently not looking for the One.

Solution: The energies and cures are more focused on wealth generation and networking. I did not pay close attention to love or family as she is single and it is for the short term. The place was slightly too Yang but she never gets much sleep anyway due to her work. She is always on the go and needs a place that promotes that. Strong Qi was tapped in through her balcony and the apartments entrance. As she was in public relations, a lot of people luck cures were used.

Dean was looking for a place for his folks. They are retired and living by themselves.

Solution: The key was to find a place that had great health luck. A good balance of Yin and Yang is also necessary as harmony is the goal for the two senior citizens. No mind was paid to wealth and career. Found a quiet neighbourhood (not too Yang) but with a lot of natural light (not too Yin). Ensured the Tien Yi and Fu Wei sectors were utilise and a strong focus on health and family related cures.

Ron was looking to buy a place to rent out or if the price was right, sell. He had no intention to use the premises himself.

Solution: The focus was prosperity and popularity. We found a place that had a great bright hall and a lot of strong Qi. This will ensure that it will be popular. I did not bother about the people aspects, health or harmony as he was sure he was not going to use it himself. It just needed to be so popular that it would drive up the value and rental. No cures were used. That may come into play if we were looking to sell later!

From the examples above, you can see that all it takes is a little thought and time. Don’t just jump in and do everything the books and the web tells you. Find out what you want, then work on how to get it with your Feng Shui!

Sometimes I just hate waiting…

Sunday, May 10, 2009 Posted by admin

Here I am.. drumming my fingers. Sighing.

I need to hand in some paperwork for an important project I am working on. Everything is done. I have double and triple checked everything. Covered all my bases. But what am I doing?

Waiting…

Waiting for the right date.

I know. I know. I should be whining about waiting for the Right Moment. I was the one that chose the best time and day using Date Selection. It is for the best and will improve my chances considerably.

But it still does not stop me from being anxious, impatient and (yes) whiny. :)

So all of you people out there that have to wait for the right time as per advise from your astrologer. I know how you feel. I am an astrologer but I too know how you feel.

This is a great quote that encapsulates the nature of a Geng (Yang Metal) and it is by one of the great Gengs of the sporting world- Mohammad Ali.

Only a Geng Metal that is forged in fire will ever know his true potential. Hardwork, practice, self development and hands on experience are all essential. Nothing comes easy to the Sword and the Axe. But as the Ali has shown.. it is worth it.

Dragon Gate has just launched its new Online Chinese Almanac. First created over 7 years ago, it has been the single most popular page on the entire site attracting thousands a day.

This is the first time it has been upgraded. It now has more information, including Flying Stars and better Date Selection system based on the Twelve Officer Days. Better Parenting with BaZi Astrology

Monday, March 16, 2009 Posted by admin

This is a new series of post that focus on a very important aspect of ones life. Your children. So, you are getting BaZi reading for your career, love life and personal development, why not your kid right? Will a reading tell you what he will be when he grows up? Will it tell you how many grandchildren you will have?

Not quite. But then, what will you get out of a BaZi reading?

You will get an insight into your child’s personality without the veil of parental bias. You will learn what motivates them and what will not. You will learn the key strengths and weaknesses he or she will grow into. You will also have insights into your family dynamics- who will he or she be closer to. Who will influence them more? Who will he or she have a stronger bond and who will be get through to them better (not neceesarily the same thing).

But be warned… you may not like everything you hear. Parents usually sees the child through eyes that are obscured by their love for their child, their own belief system and their past experiences. Parents usually press on their children their own dreams and expectations. What you want for the child may not be the best for him or her.

The BaZi Astrology Calculator 1.0 BETA- Plotting the Four Pillars of Destiny made easy

Monday, March 2, 2009 Posted by admin

People have been asking about the BaZi Astrology Chart from the Obama post. It was a snippet from the new programme from Dragon-Gate.com. It is for students, consultants and enthusiast of BaZi Chinese Astrology (Four Pillars of Destiny). Right now it includes the Stems & Branches of the natal chart & the luck pillars as well as the Shen Sha Stars (also known as the Gods and Killings Stars). The guys working on it tell me that there is a lot more to come and that this is just the BETA version.

Here is Obama’s full chart:

Full version of the Online Bazi Calculator

One really useful thing that they have done is to include a mobile version. I do not have a fancy IPhone that allows me to view the regular chart, so the mobile version is very useful on the go (with my trusty Blackberry).

What is the single most important thing in Feng Shui?

Thursday, February 26, 2009 Posted by admin

Is this not the quentisential question?

What is the single most important thing in Feng Shui?

Direction? Location? Inside? Outside? Colour? Symbols? What can change the Feng Shui of a place for the better or worse more than anything?

I believe it is the access to Qi (收气).

Why is that a whole row of houses that have the same direction, same layout- have such different Feng Shui? Why is that some businesses prosper without the need of “nice looking mountains” or “water”? Why is it that some homes with the best location have terrible Feng Shui?

Don’t get me wrong. The correct layout and direction is important, but this is not always possible. The best location is essential but not everyone can afford it. Symbols and cures can boost the Qi and heal Feng Shui ailments- but nothing beats having a clear, clean and powerful access to Qi.

Rule of thumbs:

  • Qi flows from higher ground to lower ground.
  • It collects in open spaces (carparks, junctions, fields, parks, etc).
  • It is better to have your door level with the road or slightly lower.
  • It is better to have an unobstructed view of the source of Qi.
  • It is better to have your door angled at the source of Qi.
  • It is essential that there are no open drains directly in front of your door as this will block the Qi from entering.

So if you are buying or renting a new place, remember- Access to Qi. Then go about measuring the direction, location, placing your symbols and arranging your cures.

Obama- Will he take America back to the promise land? – A BaZi Astrology Perspective

Wednesday, January 21, 2009 Posted by admin

Mr. Barack Hussien Obama was sworn in as the President of the United States of America on the morning of the 20th, January 2009. Congratulations Mr. President.

Hopes are riding high on Mr. O. He is expected to save the day. But will he be able to turn the Titanic that is the U S of A?

Lets see what his BaZi has to say:

Barack Obama’s BaZi Astrology Chart. I plotted this with
Dragon-Gate.com’s Online BaZi Astrology Calculator.

Based on his Natal Chart, I feel that he may actually be the right person for the job.

Obama is Ji Earth, sitting on Snake. Both Earth and Fire are very strong in his chart. This indicates a person that is strong and confident. Talented and able to work under pressure. Ji Earth individuals tend to be multi-taskers which needed as he will be fighting battles on many fronts.

The Strong Earth (Friend and Rob Wealth Star) in his chart shows popularity and strong support from his fans. This has shown in what seems to be the most popular President America has had since JFK. This will be needed for the people to get behind his policies which might not be as popular as he is.

Strong Fire (Resource) will be required to disarm difficult situation and ensure he has support from all factions. It also gives him the knowledge and the ability to make intelligent decisions.

The element of Wood is prominent in his chart bringing about the leadership qualities that are needed in this trying time. The presence of both Yin and Yang Wood indicates both sides of the “leadership” coin. He can be strong, steady and righteous. He can also be flexible, aggressive and cunning.

But will this be enough? We will have to have a peak at the 4 years of his tenure.

2009 is the year of the Earth Ox. This in fact is a clash to his month pillar. This indicates a messy year for Mr. Obama. Cleaning up the House of America will be like an episode of Dirty Jobs by Mike Row. Since the Goat (Friends Star) is clashed, his popularity will erode somewhat.

But will there be light at the end of the tunnel? Well… 2010 is Metal Tiger (Geng Yin) which is a Fu Yin to his current Luck Pillar (Sorry… getting technical here). That usually denotes strife, deadends and difficulty. There is also an Ungrateful Punishment Between the Tiger and the Snake in his chart. This may make his job a thankless one.

2011 is a Metal Rabbit (Xin Mao). This may be a saving grace as it combines with the Goat in his chart. This could mean that he will be feeling the love again from the people. The Water Dragon (Ren Chen) of 2012 will bring the same just in time for him to be reelected.

So what does this all mean: I feel he will probably spend the whole of 2009 trying to get America back on track. It will be messy and it will be uncomfortable. 2010 will be a difficult year as his popularity has eroded as America decides that he is not the fairytale they thought he would be. America might get back on track, but it may be a thankless job for Mr. Obama. However 2011 and 2012 looks like me may very well turn public opinion back in his favour.
